NSA-WI Speakers Academy

Have you ever seen a professional speaker on stage and thought to yourself, “I wish I could do that!”? Are you a trainer and are you thinking of starting your own business? Do you already speak in front of audiences for free, and want to know how to get paid? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then Speakers Academy is the place for you!

The NSA-WI Speakers Academy is designed specifically for aspiring speakers who are serious about pursuing, or accelerating, their career in professional speaking. Program participants learn from industry experts how to build a speaking business from the ground up. Our Academy aligns with the National Speakers Association’s Model of Service:

  • Enterprise - the business of professional speaking

  • Expertise - what you speak about, why you are an expert

  • Eloquence -  stage and platform skills, how you say it

  • Ethics - the rules governing how we act as professionals and as members of our professional NSA association

Through intentional curriculum and professional guidance participants will:

·        Gain tools and experience to start strong and avoid costly mistakes

·        Hone your craft of storytelling, stage presence, and valuable business knowledge.

·        Explore your growing career in a supported, structured, fun, and safe environment.

Speakers Academy members work at their own pace through the two-year program. Some may choose to finish in less than that time, others may take longer.

Speakers Lab

One of the most valuable services offered by NSA-WI is the “Speakers Development Lab.”  All members from Past National Presidents and CPAE’s to new candidate members are welcome to attend. The Lab operates much like a Hollywood “Actors Studio” where speakers, facilitators, seminar leaders, those who sell products or services through public presentations, etc. can go to try out new material, revise current material, practice delivery techniques, etc.

Our goal for the Speakers Lab is to take speakers, facilitators, teacher/leaders at their current level of skill, impact, fee level, etc., and help them move up to the next level. Both those speaking, and observers benefit from the Lab, and the net effect is to increase the skills and impact of each participant.
