I Want to See the Jalapeno Coming: 93 Hot Ways to Get Booked and Get Paid

Laurie Guest, CSP, was on fire as she shared 93 Ways to See the Jalapeno Coming to our NSA-WI Chapter. Her practical techniques to book more paid speaking gigs packed a punch! She had great ideas for those just considering the speaking industry, all the way up to those who have been in the business for many years. We all took away some golden nuggets. It was a dynamite program and Laurie clearly put in a great deal of time and effort to make it worth our while!

Here are a few HOT tips for those of you who were unable to be there:

• Create a Lead Card to put in front of your attendees. Generate a reason during your presentation to have your attendees fill out their name on the lead card without making it a direct ask for a sale. 
• Set up Sweet Spot Pricing (3-Tier Pricing Program with your ultimate goal to have your customer choose the middle program)
• Use the Bait, Hook, and Reel method:
  
  1. Bait (your audience) by asking, “Today we focused on…, but do you believe the topic of … would also be of value?”  
  2. Hook (your audience) by saying, “If yes, indicate your interest for my other program on your event comment card and we’ll see if we can bring that topic to you at your next convention.”
  3. Reel (your meeting planner) by sharing how many attendees expressed an interest in another program. Ask, “What are your thoughts about an encore?” Then be quiet.
