Get the Hot Skinny
Thanks to Chip Lutz for all his efforts to coordinate four amazing guest speakers from around the country, who shared a bit of their time and a few gold nuggets we can all apply in our businesses. It was an outstanding “Hot Skinny” on a variety of aspects on how to focus and grow our businesses.

Peter Winick, Thought Leader Leverage
Peter Winick has been helping thought leaders build their ideas into businesses for years. Busy visionaries become busier dealing with PR firms,
publishers, speaker bureaus, web developers…and the list goes on. Peter
had the concept of bringing that all together, so you could focus on
mastering your craft. Visit Peter’s website.
Jeff Mason, Founder of KiwiLive --
an interactive presentation tool that seeks to let speakers walk off
stage with the names and email addresses of their biggest fans in the
audience.
A few of the key points they shared include:
- The need to be crystal clear on who your target market is as well as being very specific on what problem(s) you solve for your clients. Ask yourself, “Who do I want to serve? What problems do I solve?”
- If you’re not “in a box” you’re not hire-able. Meeting planners are in the business of hiring within a box.
- Have a relentless focus on MMA (Money Making Activity).
- Reconnect with previous clients. Keep the relationships strong and find out what’s new and what’s next for them.
- Think about being in the content business vs. just a speaking business. What are the many ways you could share your content other than speaking?
- Kiwilive.com (if you don’t have it, you need to check it out to increase connection and engagement with your audiences)
- Everything starts with writing. Write, write, write and then repurpose your writing into tweets, videos, speeches, cd’s, etc.
So many good ideas and words of wisdom shared! Thank you to all our guest speakers for taking time to join us at our chapter event!
